I’ve made enough financial mistakes in my day to fill a dozen vessel sinks, but those are the experiences that I’ve learned the most from, which is why I was so interested in the 12 Investing Mistakes I’ve Made at Get Rich Slowly.
- Not investing soon enough.
- Not knowing the basics.
- Chasing past performance.
- Experimenting.
- Not paying attention to expense ratios.
- Not paying attention to distributions.
- Not paying attention to asset allocation.
- Ignoring diversification.
- Selling winners and keeping losers.
- Cost averaging down.
- Investing without a goal.
- Selling on corrections and buying at the top of the market.
I’m in no position for major investing, but it’s good to read and learn from other’s mistakes before I have a chance to make them myself.

Just wanted to say, I read this book when it was titled “How to Stay Broke Indefintely” or “How to make Financial Decisions Effortlessly” (By default the answer is always no. When your broke- you cannot buy, afford or save zippity do dah day). I been whistling this tune for far far too long.
My Metaphysical Guru advised me to dream of what it would be like to be rollin in it-to paste it on my wall and the universe will provide. Here goes…
Beauty is skin deep but humor is to the bone. Thank you.
The universe doesn’t provide crap, but it’s a nice thought. And you can always save something.
