Subscriptions Save Money! -

I am a tabloid junkie. I fell in love with magazines in college when I had nothing better to do all day than lounge around my dorm room. After a year or so of dropping serious cash at the check-out counter for Fashion magazines, I wisened up and started subscribing. How can you beat $50 for a year long Vogue magazine subscription when they are $6 each at the checkout?
CompareMagazines.co.uk is one of the best places to find deals on Women magazines and Men magazines, including Cosmopolitan magazine subscription and GQ.
If you love magazines, and are going to buy them no matter what, save yourself some money and get a subscription!

- $13 Texas Roadhouse
- $90 Target
I get very upset with myself when I waste money, and I did just that last night.
I bought batteries that were completely the wrong size, and didn’t realize it until I had ripped open the packaging. The batteries were a weird size, so they can’t be used for anything else. Total waste.
I bought a new bra (on clearance) and didn’t realize it was the wrong size until I tore the tags off and tried it on. I’m pretty sure that’s non-returnable.
I bought an office lamp that was in the college section for my new office and I thought it was $12.99. Turned out to be $19.99. I needed a lamp so bad today that I put it together and used it anyway.
All together, I spent $33 unnecessarily.
Chapter 7 Bankruptcy -

I am not a fan of filing Chapter 7 as a form of debt relief, because I think a lot of people see it as an easy way out. They throw their hands up in the air, wave a white flag, and all debt is forgiven in their eyes.
If bankruptcy truly is the only solution to your debt problem, do your research and make sure that you are filing the correct kind of bankruptcy and that you understand the repercussions to your credit and financial future. Bankruptcy laws very by state, so make sure to get a local bankruptcy attorney to help you though the filing.
Once you complete your bankruptcy claim, make sure to get your financial life by on track by keeping a budget, making payments on time, and not repeating the behaviors that got you into financial trouble in the first place.
Maxed Out -

I watched the movie Maxed Out this weekend, and I highly recommend seeing it. Read the synopsis as a teaser and then go out and rent it.
Not only did it include some really interesting financial quotes and facts (did you know that MBNA was the largest contributor to George W. Bush’s second campaign?), there were four very sad personal stories, three of which ended in suicide because of credit card debt. You can watch a clip of the mothers to get a sense of how overwhelming the situation was for the victims.
Office supplies are rare in my office. They are expensive, and disappear quick, which makes people hoard pens and pads of paper so they are never witout. If we would order our business office supplies from Rapid Supplies, we wouldn’t have this problem because they are so reasonable, our workroom shelves could be stocked at all times. They offer more than 35,000 products, all guaranteed to be in stock, and ship all orders over $75 for FREE, which isn’t hard when you’re ordering for a company of 200.
IKEA Hostel -

IKEA is a fabulous company model of quality home furnishings at reasonable prices. When we go to IKEA, it’s an event, not just a trip to the store.
Last week, shoppers from all over the world ventured to the Oslo location to eat meatballs and sleep in one of the 30 FREE beds inside the warehouse to be part of the IKEA hostel.
It’s just a fun experiment by a fun company…that needs to open a location near Indianapolis. Pretty please?
Promo Products -

One of my favorite parts of my job is being in charge of choosing and ordering all the promotional products that are used for clients, grand openings, and employees. It’s fun to pick out unique items, come up with slogans, and see people excited to receive the final product. GDN NY provides the custom promotional products I need, plus executive gifts and achievement awards. They provide virtually any promotional item you can think of, imprinted with your company’s logo, and work with companies like Citigroup, Goldman Sacs, and Merrill Lynch, so I know that they are qualified to meet my company’s needs.
