Quicken - August 29, 2007

My personal finance software comprises an Excel spreadsheet that I created over the past few years. It gets the job done, but it’s not nearly as effective as Quicken For Mac which can easily pay my online bills, transfer data to my tax return, and pull up stock reports in real time.

The software is always up-to-date, features graphs and analysis that I couldn’t even dream of through Excel, and is well worth the investment.

Big Money No Whammies - August 29, 2007

We still haven’t won any money in Las Vegas, but we did have an encounter with someone who has lots of money.

My husband made a good point, what fun is it to gamble when you’re already rich? What’s in it for you? Going from a net worth of $10 million to a net worth of $10.1 million?

Alive Blog Directory - August 28, 2007

I blog. A lot. The more readers I have, the more I like to blog. I guess you could say I become a ham infront of an audience. To get my name out there and to grow my audience, I like to make sure I’m a part of every new blog directory I come across, and Alive Directory is one I’ll be sure to join. There are lots of different options from links to your blog’s main page to deep links, a variety of a categories, standard of featured listings (which brings in more traffic) and a yearly or permanent spot.

Viva Las Vegas - August 28, 2007

We’re in Vegas, and the slots aren’t treating us too well. Actually, we’ve only lost $20, but that doen’t make the disappointment of losing any easier to swallow. So far, my mom has won $910 and my sister’s boyfriend has won $250. Hopefully we are next!

Loan Info - August 26, 2007

We won’t be taking out any more loans for a very long time. Finalizing an auto loan was a big mess last Friday. Even though I filled out all the paperwork and got the credit union all the information they requested before we made the trip to sign the paperwork, they still needed more information once we arrived. Information I wasn’t aware that they needed and did not have handy.

Even though we didn’t have the smoothest experience, the auto loan information at 600.net was very useful in preparing us for the process and figuring out if refinancing was a good move.

Puppies are worth it - August 26, 2007

IMG 0928I just dropped our dog off at the Good Dog Hotel to be boarded while we are on vacation and I left my credit card information so that my sister can pick him up on Friday. Five days of boarding is going to cost around $200, but it’s worth it, because he’s the best puppy ever.
