Coach Purses - September 24, 2008

Total shameless self promotion, but I’m cleaning out and listing some good stuff on eBay. I’m currently selling three gently used Coach purses that are totally in style and in great condition.

In the coming weeks I’ll be listing some more brand name items, including a pair of Coach shoes, Kate Spade shoes, and Banana Republic clothing!

September 21 thru 23 - September 23, 2008
  • $30 gas

Just a small sip of gas for the Grand AM this morning.

September 20 - September 20, 2008

I’m planning ahead, spending some time budgeting, and writing checks for bills due this payday.

  • $1100 rent
  • $350 Chase
  • $72 AT&T

My husband has been working a ton of overtime, so this paycheck will be substantially inflated, and I look forward to putting it all towards a Visa bill we’re very close to paying in full!

September 18 thru 19 - September 20, 2008
  • $42 gas
  • $39 gas
  • $86 grocery
  • $40 dinner out

Our big Friday night plans included filling up our gas tanks, going grocery shopping, grabbing dinner at a local restaurant, and dreaming about cruises.

We’re just a barrel of fun.

Issues - September 19, 2008

I hate calling to resolve billing issues. That’s why I made my husband call AT&T today to find out why our DSL bill is twice what it normally is. We haven’t used cisco or downloaded anything beyond our monthly limit, so I was miffed.

Turns out that their billing cycle adjusted, so they hit us with almost two full months of DSL billing. The statement was legit, but unexpected, and sets off our budget for this pay period.

Big Purchases - September 18, 2008

While my husband and I are loving our new bed and the bedding that I got for 50% off at Target, we’re not loving our lack of modern furniture.

Every piece of furniture in our bedroom is either a hand-me-down or was purchased at IKEA, which is fine when you’re in college, but not fine when you’re married and looking to buy a house.

In order to soften the blow when we do purchase a house, we’ve set ourself up on a schedule to slowly buy new furniture as we can afford it. Since we’re already started the process with a new bed, the bedroom is up first, and we’re looking for a simple bed frame, a dresser/TV stand, and two bedside tables. Easy enough, but still some pretty big puchases.

Do you ease yourself into big purchases or do you charge the whole thing and get it over with?

Mandatory Vacations - September 18, 2008

We’re only 16 days away from our Disney vacation, yet here I sit, looking at hotels in las vegas. My husband and I require a vacation every six months, and Vegas is a favorite, so I’m planning ahead.

Luckily, next spring’s Vegas vacation is being taken care of by my parents. They’ve offered to combine our Christmas and birthday presents into a family vacation! Our only task is to save enough money for drinks and gambling.

Vacations are one item that will never get cut from our budget if I have any say in it.
