Stress Induced Eye Twitching - April 16, 2009

When I’m stressed out, I experience eye twitching, which means this weekend when I pay bills my eyelid will be fluttering non-stop.

Eye twitching is technically a medical condition called blepharospasm and some extreme cases require surgery since it can impair vision. To prevent eye twitching, make sure to take your vitamins, don’t strain your eyes reading or using the computer, and for cyin’ out loud, don’t stress!

Parents Connect: We’re Not Perfect. We’re Parents - April 15, 2009

A lot of parents struggle with the big issues when raising children. How do we talk to our children about drugs and alcohol? How do we teach our children to be respectful? When do we talk to our children about sex? Kids aren’t even a blip on our radar, and my husband and I have discussed these things!

All big decisions and deserving of much thought, but sometimes we need to bring it down a notch and think about teaching our children the little, everyday things that will make them successful. Like how to balance a checkbook, pay bills, manage their allowance, and read a credit card statement! Things that get overlooked at home and at school, but are holding young adults back from being successful adults.

Parents Connect is a great site by Nickelodeon that can help parents with decisions big and small, from pregnancy through teens. Everyone realizes that parents aren’t perfect, and this is the place for parents to share their successes and failures, weigh in on the every day aspects the chaotic events of child rearing, and cheer each other on and while learning from other’s missteps.

The site is inviting and informative, and just begs parents to go ahead and connect!

Biggest Blogging Tip – Stop Using Free Blogging Sites - April 12, 2009

I’ve been fielding a lot of emails this past week about how I got started blogging, how I came to make money blogging, and tips for blogging beginners. While I could talk all day about blogging, I realized that my biggest blogging tip, whether you want to make money blogging or not, is to stop using free blogging sites, and commit to website hosting.

The biggest advantage of choosing a reliable webhost is having access to every aspect of your site. You can completely customize the look and feel of your blog, insert code for rankings, widgets, and advertising, and be completely free of the TOS of free blogging sites.

There are different types of webhosting that you can choose from, but making the decision to choose your own host is the first step to blogging freedom! The Web Hosting Geeks can help you decide which host is right for you with their detailed reviews, top ten list, blog.

Even if you already have a host, Web Hosting Geeks is a great site to check in with whenever you are up for renewal. It lets you compare your host to others to make sure you’re getting the best deal and all the technical features you need in your host.

Ever since I switched to a reliable webhost, three years ago, my sites look how I want them to and my blogging revenue has significantly increased! Well worth the investment.
