Delilah was my 1999 Grand Am that went to a new owner last night!
I listed the car with the local newspaper and exchanged emails with a used car dealership. We met, exchanged money for the title, and off he went. He didn’t even test drive the car and joked that at least it started when he got in!
I was amazed, but he was a super nice guy and I’m happy that we got what we were asking for the car! No wheeling and dealing!

It’s not a good week when you have $400 worth of dental work and are told that you need $800 more. Can you believe our insurance covers absolutely nothing on posterior dental work? I guess they figure it’s okay for our back teeth to fall out – nobody can see it.
- $23 gas
- $28 Dentist (floride treatment)
- $364 Dentist (fillings)
My husband is currently driving around like this…

We were the first car in a four car collision during a rainstorm a few weeks ago and the car hasn’t made it to the autobody repair shop yet because the gentlman (if you can even call him that) behind us does not have insurance. Lovely, I know.
Now we’re debating whether to get it fixed on our own and be reimbursed later or wait for the insurance to sort things out. If we go ahead on our own, we can find a body shop in our area through Collision Repair Experts with feedback and rankings to help us choose the best in the area.
Fenders benders are such a hassle!
The couple that I work for spent all last fall looking at Las Vegas Foreclosures and they finally closed on a house this spring. It was a long process – they looked at a lot of houses, filled out a lot of paperwork, and waited a long time for the bank to accept one of their offers – but they ended up making a great investment and have a fabulous home in Las Vegas to retire to in the future.
Since my husband and I will be in the market for our first home in the spring, we’re considered foreclosures. There’s a lot to know about foreclosures and the process can be pretty daunting – so do your homework and be patient and you could be a proud home owner!

I found this great chart about the cost of convenience at the grocery in this month’s Cooking Light. There are several things I will pay for more at the grocery store if the save me time and effort in the long run – frozen chopped onions is #1 on that list. My local grocery also sells pre-cut chicken and steak for stir-fry and fajitas in serving sizes that are just enough for two people that I think are well worth the money.
What will you pay more for in the name of convenience?
I was very excited to get some extra freelance work this month and to receive several free items to review.
Total = $287.68
My goal was $250 and if I include free products, I would estimate my total for the month to be closer to $600. Great month, great products, and I’m expecting much of the same in July!
New blogging goal is $300.

- $18 Weinermobile Cafe
- $35 Henry Ford Museum
- $38 El Salto
- $120 Four Winds Casino (dinner and entertainment)

We took a little roadtrip up to Michigan for the holiday weekend; drove from Chicago to Dearborn and back on one tank of gas in the Prius! Then my husband got me drunk on margaritas and convinced me to buy him a new Blu-ray player and computer bag at Costco.
