Thrifty Tip – PaperBackSwap -
March 30, 2010 by
Corrin
I’m an avid reader but finishing 1-2 books a week got to be too pricey – until I joined PaperBackSwap.
Here’s what you do….post your old books to PaperBackSwap and mail them to other members via media mail when requested. When the book is delivered, you receive a credit, which can be used to request a book from another member!
I haven’t bought a new book is almost a year and it only costs around $2 to mail my old books and earn credits. The best part of PaperBackSwap is that it keeps a tally of the money you’ve saved by swapping books. I’m up to $292.50 saved!

I don’t do much of the cleaning in my house (I’m more of a tidier; my husband is the deep cleaner) but I do all the shopping. In addition to being price conscious, I try to choose products that are the best for my family and the environment.
Seventh Generation is a favorite of mine that has been leading the “responsible cleaning” crusade for over 20 years, using the power of the herb thyme to clean and disinfect! Thymol is a component of the herb thyme and is a non-toxic and environmentally safe way to clean counter tops, cutting boards, kid’s toys, and more. I always have the disinfecting wipes around to clean up little spills and puppy accidents.
Not only are Seventh Generation products eco-friendly, they are budget-friendly, and you can save even more when you register for the Seventh Generation Nation and print valuable coupons! Between my local retailer and coupons, Seventh Generation products are cheaper than most harsh disinfectants.
If you want to learn more about what is good for you and our planet, Seventh Generation has paired with eco-lifestyle consultant Alexandra Zissu, author of The Conscious Kitchen: The New Way to Buy and Cook Food – to Protect the Earth, Improve Your Health, and Eat Deliciously
. Her book includes great tips that everyone can consider for maintaining a green and healthy kitchen.
Are you ready to make the switch to non-toxic Seventh Generation products? I’ll make it easy – I have a prize pack for one lucky reader that contains:
-
disinfecting multisurface cleaner
-
disinfecting bathroom cleaner
-
disinfecting wipes
-
-
2 rolls of 100% recycled, unbleached paper towels
-
all in a cleaning caddy made of recycled plastic!

Lately, date nights are spent on the couch, eating Rice Crispie Treats, and watching movies. I’m okay with that. Especially with $1 DVD rentals from Blockbuster Express.
It’s fast and convenient and new releases like The Princess and The Frog and Blind Side are now available.
Enjoy two date nights for the price of one with this BOGO Blockbuster Express coupon. Just use coupon code 555G13B before March 31st.
I received no compensation for this post. I was entereted into a contest for a $250 Visa gift card in exchange for this post and since I like cheap date night and we need groceries, it was a natural fit. Please see my site policy with any questions.
Spring Break Budget -

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Hiltons of Branson. All opinions are 100% mine. Please see my site policy with any questions.
It’s spring break! Did you budget to take your family somewhere this year? Vacation savings is in our budget because it’s important to us to get away and see the sites. We set aside a little every paycheck (and a little more if we’re budgeting for somewhere specific) and have enough to get away every year!
Most years, my family went on an excursion for spring break. When I was eleven we drove to Branson, Missouri. I remember water slides, an Elvis impersonator, and the saloon at Silver Dollar City.
Someplace “touristy” like Branson does tend to be pricey, but the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing has some great specials to make your vacation budget stretch further, like 25% off (!!!) when you book with your Visa card, double Virgina America points, and romance and golf packages to add a little something extra to your stay.
The Hilton Branson Convention Center combines work and play, so you can take your family with on your next business trip!
Both hotels are close to the action of the Branson strip, have great family-friendly pools and dining options, and are even pet-friendly so Roover can come along!
So, where is your family going for spring break?
