We didn’t technically spend any money the last few days of may, but we did get to head to the local Toyota dealer and order our Prius after over a year on the waiting list! The car is scheduled to arrive at port on the 16th and should be ours 1-2 weeks later!
We are now in the process of applying for the car loan through our credit union and the dealer to see which is going to offer a better rate.

It’s funny to read this right now because I happen to be new car-surfing in another tab.
I’m currently on a military deployment to Iraq, so I’ve got some time to make this decision. I was leaning heavily toward a Nissan Altima hybrid (I happen to love Nissans), but now I can’t help but notice that a new Honda Insight would cost me less than a USED Altima. I can never give a good answer when someone asks me if I’m buying a hybrid more for economic reasons or environmental reasons. Your motivations might make for an interesting post on a slow day.
Michael – We’re actually picking up our car tomorrow, and I am so excited! Our motivations were economic and environmental – what the Prius will save me in gas completely offsets the upgrade from my 10 year old Grand Am.
how long will you pay for the car? I want to sell my old car and get the new one. I pay more than a hundred dollars to get this car for 3 years. I’m looking forward to hear the latest info from you, thanks.
Hi, Emily. One of our cars will be paid in full in September (yeah!). The other has 3 years of payments left.
