Okay, so this Thrifty Tip may be considered down right cheap, but that’s the risk I’m willing to take.
Purex 2-in-1 sheets are frequently on sale BOGO at CVS and coupons are easy to come by, so you can almost always get two packages for under $5. That means that you can wash 40 loads of laundry for under $5.
Pretty good, right?
But what if I told you there was a way to get 80 loads of laundry clean for under $5 using those same Purex 2-in-1 sheets?
That’s right. I know the secret.
Cut your Purex 2-in-1 sheets in half lengthwise.
Now before you scoff, there is plenty of detergent and fabric softener on half a sheet for a medium load of clothes that just need a quick wash.
I never use the full amount of detergent that any package say to use, and I don’t smell.
I don’t think.

How come I never thought of that!!!

I just got a sample pack of these in the mail yesterday. Good thing I waited to try them out. I’ll definitely cut them in half for sure. Great tip =]

That is an AWESOME idea! I’ll have to share that with my daughter at college. She’ll love it, too.
This reminds me of what my mom did when I was little and I did when my kids were little. I would take a gallon milk jug and clean it really well. Then I would buy a gallon of whole milk, pour half of it in the clean container and fill both up with water. It really stretched the milk and the kids never noticed.

LOL! Good to know you don’t smell!! I have a pack of those Purex sheets and next I go to use them I’m cutting them half (even though I have enough laundry detergent stockpiled for the next 5 years)! Thanks for linking to Thrifty Tip Tuesday!

I totally do this. Although, I don’t buy those sheets very often, b/c they seem more expensive than the liquid, but when I have bought them, I too cut them in half.

I’ll have to start trying this. My wife and I are always looking to find some ways to save a little money!
